Animation Test Scene Dream

As I finished my complete environment design for the dream sequence, I’m going to go ahead and begin animating it. I already have a basic animation of it done on after effects, though I’ll be speaking to Kathy Smith during a meeting today about how I’ll switch my animation techniques over to Maya.

Maya is important because I’ll need it for lighting.

I wish youtube didn’t take so long to upload videos since then I’d be able to post more no my blog.

By the end of this week I’ll hopefully have my entire dream sequence finished-finished and I’ll be able to focus on different parts of my project. I’m kind of getting sick of butterflies.

Dream Sequence Environments

Art Assets

Currently been trying to figure out set designs for my scenes. So far I only have a for sure image of the school hallway in my head. Other then that it seems like it’s going to be a lot of design trial and error for the rest of the locations.

As for the boy, I shrunk his torso and made him less “manly” looking. I need to work on the girl design some more. Should each of their butterflies look like their character?

Still need to talk to Mike and Kathy about some stuff.

Lets try this again…

When page by page storyboarding doesn’t work, try working horizontal, vertical, and flip-book style all at the same time.

Storyboard v 2.5

So far the storyboarding for this thesis has been kicking my butt. I still have to work out a few loopholes and gaps in the plot. But other then that, I finally think I found a way for me to organize my thoughts a bit better. It’s not the conventional 6 frames per sheet storyboard, but we’ll have to see how it works. It’s a scroll/flipbook/3D display hybrid.
